Most college kids go down to Florida or Mexico for spring break, I went the opposite direction to visit our wonderful northern neighbors! I was so happy that all my lovely friends came too. We stayed in Toronto and got to be hard core tourists in this beautiful city. Niagra falls was absolutely breathtaking, even though most of it was frozen over. One of my favorite parts of the trip was visiting Sick Kids Hospital which is one of the largest Children’s hospital around. We got to talk to the top surgeon from the burn unit, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist who had some of the most inspirational things to say (excuse my inner science nerd). And guys… I got to be in a St. Patrick’s day parade. That was cool and such a culture shock. The streets of Toronto were filled and we got to walk with the City’s fire department. The other awesome places we got to visit were the Royal Ontario Museum (where we got chased by dinosaurs), the Design Exchange (where we got to see one of Pharrell Williams toy exhibits), the CN tower (tallest tower I have ever seen), and the Parliament (where we got to witness some canadian government workers smack down). The last thing, and certainly not the least, we got to do was volunteer at a soup kitchen. It was so much fun to be able to give back and meet some amazing people.
This trip to Canada was awesome and jam packed with action. I love traveling and every little adventure is always so much fun. Wouldn’t trade it for the world!
